New Workforce Training Center to open in South Dallas
South Dallas Fair Park Innercity Community Development Corporation (ICDC), Richland College Garland Campus and Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas are partnering to offer workforce training to the community. Richland College is leasing nearly 6,000 square feet from the ICDC at 4907 Spring Avenue.
More than 100 individuals per year will be trained through this partnership in small personalized classes. Training will include forklift operation, machine operation, office accounting, virtual welding, welding, OSHA, and basic ESOL. Trainees who meet certain qualifications will pay no tuition for the program.
The ICDC is a community based non-profit that has been serving the needs of South Dallas/Fair Park neighborhoods for 30 years.
The center is expected to open this summer.
