Free mosquito dunks for residents

The City of Dallas Code Compliance Services department is offering free mosquito dunks to Dallas residents in order to fight mosquito-borne illnesses. Mosquito dunks are a safe, non-toxic way to kill mosquito larvae in standing water around your home. Standing water like unused swimming pools, empty containers, toys, old tires or rain gutters are common breading grounds for mosquitoes. To use a dunk, it simply needs to be placed in the stagnant water.

Residents can pick up mosquito dunks between Monday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at either 3112 Canton Street, Suite #100 or 7901 Goforth. The Goforth location is closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch. Residents must bring either their driver’s license or utility bill as proof of residency. One package of dunks will be distributed per household and must only be used at that household. The dunks are not for resale.
