Reliant and the City team up to help residents beat the heat

Reliant Energy is teaming up with the City of Dallas to help people stay cool during the Texas summer heat for the eighth consecutive year.

Reliant will provide two Beat the Heat centers which will provide a safe and comfortable place for Dallas-area residents to stay cool and reduce the need for home electricity use during the hottest days of summer. The centers are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to the cooling centers, Reliant has provided nearly $10 million in bill payment assistance through the CARE (Community Assistance by Reliant Energy) program and flexible payment options for customers in need.

The centers will open Friday, June 2 following a press conference.
