Dallas Rapper Dorrough Honored for Philanthropy

Dallas native and Lancaster High School graduate Dorwin Demarcus Dorrough was honored by Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway during today’s City Council Briefing. Mayor Pro Tem Caraway played a video clip to introduce the rapper before presenting him with a Special Recognition and proclaimed July 28, 2018  to be Dorrough Music Day in Dallas.

Dorrough thanked Mayor Pro Tem Caraway for the honor and says he’s planning to host a charity event July 28 to further give back to the community, and continue his philanthropy efforts.

Dorrough’s first single, “Walk That Walk,” reached #28 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. His second single, “Ice Cream Paint Job,” was his first to reach the Billboard Hot 100, reaching #27. His debut album, Dorrough Music, peaked at #36 on the Billboard 200, #6 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and #2 on the Top Rap Albums. Dorrough is currently working on a new project called “The Jump Back.”
