City of Dallas now accepting registrations for annual Dallas Golden Games
As the Tokyo Olympics come to a close, the competition is heating up for the annual Dallas Golden Games. This fun, Olympic-style competition allows Dallas adults 50 and over to engage in fitness and recreational activities. This year’s Golden Games will start on Sept. 18 and last until Sept. 25.
Participants can choose from an array of sports and activities, including:
- Basketball
- Cycling
- Golf
- Pickleball
- Swimming
- Table tennis
- Tennis
- Track and Field
Registration is open from Aug. 2 and closes on Sept. 2. To compete, participants pay a $25 registration fee plus an additional $3.00 per event.
Cycling will require an additional $20 event fee and features a 5K, 10K time trial and a 20K road race. Golf requires an additional $60 fee, which covers 18 and 36 holes. For additional information on pricing and fees visit https://www.dallasparks.org/453/Senior-Programs.
Athletes are required to have a partner for doubles events. Each athlete will be responsible for completing their registration form. Partners must list each other’s names on their individual forms.
This year’s Golden Games will start with a Drive-Thru Opening Ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 14 at the Samuell-Grand Aquatic Center parking lot located at 6200 E. Grand Ave.
