Chief Brown to present Let’s Talk event Thursday

Dallas Police Chief David O. Brown will host Let’s Talk, a conversation with police recruits about community relations at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Chief Brown will join McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley in engaging more than 150 current Dallas Police recruits. The event will provide recruits with first-hand accounts of how community members and police officers feel about current law enforcement and community relationships.

During the month of August, the department reached out to college students, community members and officers to solicit feedback on the relationship between police and the community. These responses were recorded and the videos will be played during the event.

Those tuning in online will be able to see the interaction and conversation with Chief Brown, Chief Conley and the recruits. Viewers will also see student, community and police videos as they are being viewed by the onsite attendees. These conversations are timely and necessary due to recent tensions throughout the country between law enforcement and the communities.
