West Dallas Multipurpose Center to host skilled labor job fair

DALLAS – The West Dallas Multipurpose Center and the City of Dallas Office of Community Care are hosting a job fair for skilled laborers from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 23.

The goal of the event is to highlight West Dallas businesses and bring together those who need employment with fields that need employees.

“Skilled labor is an essential expertise, and we are excited to support the Dallas community in this way,” West Dallas Multipurpose Center Manager Ashley Hutto said. “It can be hard for businesses to advertise for and fill open positions, so we hope to help people make connections.”

In total, 20 businesses, all of which have open positions, will be onsite. Prospective employees will have the opportunity to submit applications and participate in onsite interviews.

District 6 Councilmember Omar Narvaez will also be in attendance.

“Skilled labor jobs are vital to the Dallas community. This is an incredible opportunity not only to showcase these essential jobs, but also to help people enter the workforce,”  Narvaez said.

This event will be held outside in the parking lot of WDMC. Attendees are asked to come dressed appropriately for the outdoors. Since it is an outdoor event, it will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

For residents who use DART, route 52 stops at the West Dallas Library, which is in front of WDMC.

For more information, call WDMC at 214-670-6340.
