PARK(ing) Day Dallas

PARK(ing) Day is an annual international event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into temporary public places.

Each year, on the third Friday of September Dallas, various City departments, individual residents, organizations and businesses form teams to transform spaces into areas for relaxing, networking and entertainment.

PARK(ing) Day began in 2005 when a San Francisco art and design studio, converted a single metered parking space into a temporary public park in downtown San Francisco.

Since then PARK(ing) Day has evolved into a global movement within 30 countries and some 160 cities.
This year marks the 4th year for PARK(ing) Day Dallas and organizers say it gets bigger every year. Reporting from Downtown I’m CC with the FEED.
