City of Dallas Partnership with Envision Dallas Creates Meaningful Employment Opportunities for a Population Who Navigates a 70% Unemployment Rate
On July 1st, 7 members of Envision Dallas began their first day of work with the Dallas 311 call centers. Envision Dallas is a nonprofit organization that helps to create employment opportunities and resources for over 150,000 visually impaired individuals in the North Texas area. The seven members will handle about 70% of all municipal court calls throughout the partnership’s 3-year contract. This collaboration began while City of Dallas Officials were touring the Envision Dallas offices and were impressed by the level of operations handled within the facility. When the conversation arose about employment resources for the members the partnership proposal came about, which was later approved by council on June 8th.
The City of Dallas 311, is excited for the partnership with Envision Dallas and hopes it encourages other companies to diversify their workforce as well. With Dallas being a trailblazing city with the Racial and Equity Plan, this is a huge milestone for the City of Dallas and Envision
