Labor Day holiday No-Refusal DWI initiative

The Dallas Police Department will conduct a No-Refusal DWI Initiative from 6 p.m., Friday, August 17, through midnight, Monday, September 3. This initiative encompasses the Labor Day Holiday weekend.

During this time, officers will obtain a search warrant for a blood sample from anyone arrested for DWI who refuse to voluntarily give a breath or blood sample.

This initiative is in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and part of an ongoing effort statewide to reduce drunk driving. The Plan While You Can campaign encourages Texans to make plans to get home safely if they plan to drink. Visit SoberRides.org to learn more about their campaign.
