Healthy Cities initiatives launched at Dallas recreation centers

City of Dallas recreation centers are teaming with Baylor Scott & White Health and the United Way to promote healthy lifestyle choices. The free 10-week program, Healthy Cities, is provided at Anita N. Martinez Recreation Center, Cummings Recreation Center and Samuell-Grand Recreation Center.

“Recreational activities and nutrition education, are vital in creating active citizens and livable communities,” said Dallas Park and Recreation Department Assistant Director Crystal R. Ross. “It is our goal to offer quality recreation programs within the City of Dallas that will improve and enhance the overall well-being of our community members,” she said.

The program will be available quarterly in English and Spanish. Additional highlights of the program include on-site fresh produce and physical activity programs.
