Employees win scholarships from Employee Advisory Committee

City employees were awarded scholarships from the Hispanic Association of City Employees for Results (HACER). HACER is an employee advisory committee, whose mission is “to provide a network of results oriented Hispanic City Employees ready, willing and able to fill and serve the needs of the community, while providing professional and social networking, support, coaching and mentoring opportunities.” HACER provides assistance wherever it is needed, from elderly City residents with code violations to offering professional development to other employees

HACER also works to give back to their members through the Drusilla Enriquez Memorial Scholarship. A founding member of HACER, and the scholarship is dedicated to Drusilla Enriquez and her leadership in forming the organization. $500 scholarships were awarded to three City employees, who submitted an essay describing their community work and HACER membership activities. These scholarships will go toward professional development and education.
