Dallas City Council Approves New Parking Garage at Love Field Airport

On Wednesday, the Dallas City Council gave the green light to start construction of a four-story parking garage at Love Field Airport. Love Field has experienced unprecedented growth with the end of the Wright amendment in 2014, increasing the number of daily commercial flights by 24 percent.

The airport is expected to need about 4,000 additional parking spaces by 2020, and the new parking garage would accommodate exactly that amount.

“This is great news for the airport and for our frequent fliers,” said Mark Duebner, Director of Aviation. “We had 4 million people board planes in 2013, and that number is expected to grow to more than 6 million in 2015. We’re dedicated to making travel easier for our customers.”

The new parking garage will be built in the former Terminal 1 location at Love Field.
