City of Dallas receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has recognized the City of Dallas with their Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. The award was presented to City of Dallas Chief Financial Officer Jeanne Chipperfield.

The award is based on established guidelines assessing the overall effectiveness of the City’s budget presentation. The nationally recognized criteria evaluate how well the budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.

“It’s an honor to be recognized for our budget presentation,” Chipperfield said. “I want to commend City staff for their hard work and for the continued improvements we’ve made to our budget document. We also appreciate the support of the City Manager and City Council that has allowed us to compete an informative and effective presentation.”

According to the GFOA, the award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and a significant achievement that reflects a city’s commitment to meeting the highest principles of government budgeting.
