City Facilities closed in observance for Indigenous Peoples’ Day 2025
Various City of Dallas facilities will be closed in observance of October 13, 2025. Below is a list of City services affected by modified schedules.
City Offices:
All City offices will be closed.
Libraries:
All library locations will be closed, but residents can access the library 24/7 at DallasLibrary.org.
Listen to an audiobook, download an ebook, stream music or read magazines. The Dallas Public Library is always open!
Recreation Centers:
Administrative offices, maintenance facilities, and recreation centers will be closed.
Dallas Water Utilities:
The Dallas Water Utilities administrative and customer service offices will be closed Monday, October 13, for Indigenous Peoples’ Day. For emergency water service requests, customers should call 3-1-1. Non-emergency requests can be submitted online or on the Dallas 311 mobile app available for download on iOS and Android devices.
Las oficinas administrativas y de atención al cliente de los Servicios de Agua de Dallas estarán cerradas el lunes, 13 de octubre por el Día de los Pueblos Indígenas. Para emergencias relacionadas con el servicio de agua, llame al 3-1-1. Las solicitudes no de emergencia también se pueden hacer en línea o en la aplicación móvil Dallas 311 disponible en dispositivos iOS y Android.
Animal Services:
Administrative offices will be closed. The shelter will be open for normal business hours and Animal Services Officers will respond normally to resident service requests through 3-1-1.
3-1-1 Customer Help Line:
311 Customer Service Representatives will be available to take service-related calls such as water main breaks, downed trees/limbs, signal lights out/down, animal control, etc. Water Customer Service will be closed. Customers can also submit service requests online or on the Dallas 311 mobile app available for download on iOS and Android devices.
Police:
Administrative offices will be closed. Will operate on a normal schedule.
Dallas Fire Rescue:
Administrative offices will be closed. Will operate on a normal schedule.
Court & Detention Services:
The Municipal Courts Building at 2014 Main will be closed. Payments by mail are accepted with postmark dates honored. Online payments may be made at www.dallascityhall.com. Full payments and attorney and cash bonds for arrested defendants will be processed 24/7 (including holidays) at the Dallas Marshal’s Office, 1600 Chestnut St., Dallas 75226.
Sanitation:
The Sanitation administrative offices will be closed on Monday, October 13, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. However, all collections, including recycling, garbage, and brush/bulky item collection, will proceed as scheduled.
The McCommas Bluff Landfill and transfer stations will remain open during regular hours for residential self-service disposal. For more information on disposal hours, please visit dsan.us/disposalinfo.
Office of Arts and Culture:
Office of Arts and Culture holiday hours: The Office of Arts and Culture administrative offices, Bath House Cultural Center, Latino Cultural Center, Oak Cliff Cultural Center, and South Dallas Cultural Center will be closed on Monday, October 13, 2025, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day and will resume normal operating hours Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House & Museum will be closed Monday, October 13 and Tuesday, October 14, 2025 and will resume normal operating hours Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
