City Hall on the Go is helping residents across Dallas

The City’s new mobile office, City Hall on the Go has been rolling through neighborhoods since October. During that time, the specially equipped van was able to provide City services to 1,421 citizens. City Hall on the Go has saved residents more than 18,000 miles miles by driving into their communities instead of requiring citizens to drive to Dallas City Hall.

COG2City Hall on the Go runs Wednesday through Sundays and drives through all neighborhoods in Dallas. It has significantly impacted seniors and people without access to the internet. The van offers one-on-one interaction with staff so those who aren’t technologically proficient can get the assistance they need. Staff usually spends three hours at each location assisting citizens. City Hall on the Go has a current satisfaction rating just over 96 percent.

Most inquiries from residents are regarding 311, water conservation programs, smoke detector installation and senior services programs. City Hall on the Go drives to two locations a day including libraries, recreation centers, senior events and other public events in the Dallas area. Follow their twitter, @311Dallas, for updates on their location.

The new mobile office allows citizens to conduct city business such as paying a water bill, taking care of an outstanding ticket or obtaining a garage sale permit. There’s also a walk up window to ask questions or voice concerns.
