Great Texas Warrant Round Up set to begin March 5

The Dallas City Marshal’s office will join officers from Houston, San Antonio and other agencies across the state to kick off the 10th Annual Great Texas Warrant Roundup on March 5. The Marshal’s Office announced details about the roundup at a City Hall press conference.

“We want citizens who have outstanding warrants to get them taken care of now, before our officers have to take official action against them,” said Chief Deputy Marshal Paul Hansen. “We’d rather people go to Courts and Detention Services and pay their tickets.”

The Dallas City Marshal’s Office and the Dallas Police Department will concentrate efforts to arrest wanted individuals with unpaid traffic and non-traffic citations and warrants pending before the Dallas Municipal Court starting March 5.

Persons who are delinquent in satisfying their City of Dallas warrants are subject to a hold placed on renewal of their vehicle registration with the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (Scofflaw Program) or arrest and jail time. In Dallas, drivers may also be subject to denial of their driver’s license renewal.

Those with outstanding citations in the City of Dallas can avoid vehicle registration holds or arrest by paying in person at 2014 Main St. between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. (wheelchair access is at 2014 Main Street).
