The City of Dallas returns with Branch Out Dallas, a program too vital not to bring back in celebration of Texas Arbor Day! To encourage the planting of new hardwood trees, Branch Out Dallas gave out 2,600 trees in March 2018, and it is anticipated that another 2,500 trees will be given away on behalf of the program on November 2.
“Trees benefit the environment in so many ways,” said Terry Lowery, Director of Dallas Water Utilities. “They clean the air, filter stormwater and urban runoff, provide shade, and combat the effects of climate change. This is a partnership with twelve City departments, as well as Air North Texas and the Texas A&M Forest Service and continue this valuable program at no cost to Dallas residents.”
Register at dallascityhall.com/branchoutdallas today to select from one of five trees, then select the pick-up location closest to you. Participants from last year can also apply this year. Registration is from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30 and pick-up is on Nov. 2. Email [email protected] if you have questions about the program.
Restrictions apply: Must live within Dallas city limits to participate. Bring your Dallas water bill or a government-issued identification card with a Dallas address to pick up your tree. Each home will receive one (1) tree. No tree delivery available for this program. Trees only available for pickup during the hours of the event.
