Among the stories featured on this week’s Your City:

  • A Neighborhood Plus target area can now be crossed off the list of food deserts in Dallas. The City of Dallas Office of Economic Development assisted with funding to bring a new grocery store to the Highland Hills area for the first time ever.

  • The friends of Dallas Public Library announced a campaign to preserve the items left at the Dallas Police Department memorial after the July 7th attack in memory of the victims. The nonprofit group is hoping to raise $75,000 to begin digitizing and storing the artifacts and to make them available to the public. Click here for the link to donate.
  • Dallas 311 has launched a new software to help people find what they’re look for faster. An updated City of Dallas 311 information phone feature, nicknamed Easy Speak, will give residents easier access to important City resources. The software allows callers to say what they want in their own words in order to get to the information that they need.
