ULI presents affordable housing recommendations to City officials

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) made a number of recommendations to the City of Dallas on strategies to increase the supply of affordable, workforce and mixed-income housing in the city. The recommendations include:

• Create a Chief Executive Officer of Housing and Community Investment
• Create a Housing Trust Fund with dedicated revenue sources
• Identify a limited number of housing and community revitalization focus areas
• Expand housing choices in high opportunity areas
• Create a predictable, transparent and efficient housing policy

The ULI panel has been in Dallas since Feb. 28, reviewing the city’s existing housing policies and practices, and analyzing best practice examples from other municipalities.

The panel’s full report is available here.
