Summer program at the library encourages summer reading

Students in second through fifth grades can continue to improve their reading skills this summer by enrolling in the Summer Book Buddies program. The program is a collaboration between the Dallas Public Library and Dallas Independent School District (DISD) to ensure students don’t lose the skills they learned throughout the school year.

Last year, DISD found that students who participated in the program were better prepared to return to school in the fall than those who had not. Summer Book Buddies will be held June 12 to August 4 at multiple locations throughout Dallas.
