Reconstruction project to begin near Fair Park

A major Public Works street reconstruction project will begin this month on Al Lipscomb Way (Grand) from South Good Latimer Expressway to R. B Cullum Boulevard and J. B. Jackson, Jr. Boulevard from Peabody Avenue to Parry Avenue.

Construction activities will continue for approximately a year and a half.  All travel lanes on Al Lipscomb Way and J. B. Jackson, Jr. Boulevard will be open and accessible during the State Fair of Texas in 2016 and 2017.

Additionally, during the State Fair, construction activity on both streets will cease and equipment will be removed. During the time of construction, Al Lipscomb Way will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

The traffic control plan for J. B. Jackson Jr. Boulevard during construction is currently being developed and will be announced later.
