Non-profit agencies invited to apply for funding to aid food deserts
The City of Dallas Office of Community Care (OCC) is seeking non-profit agencies through an open application process to administer Making Food Accessible projects and services to low-income Dallas residents who have been impacted by COVID-19.
Low-income is defined as:
- at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI), and/or
- having limited food options and/or
- have been diagnosed with COVID-19 or are required to quarantine and
- are unable to purchase food under a short-term sub-recipient agreement
Organizations should have the ability to target populations that have been most impacted by COVID-19 and individuals residing in areas considered to be food deserts by the United States Department of Agriculture.
The application will remain open until the $1,000,000 in CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds for Making Food Accessible project is fully committed and/or no longer available.
