Mobile telescoping passenger stairway now in operation at Love Field

Delayed travelers at Love Field are now able to safely and quickly deplane, thanks to the airport’s new telescoping passenger stairway. The mobile stairway can be quickly moved to aircraft when flights experience delays.

With greater than expected growth after expiration of the Wright Amendment, airport staff determined that the mobile stairway was need to deal with irregular aircraft operations. Department of Transportation regulations forbid air carriers from keeping passengers in the tarmac for more than three hours due to irregular flights.
