Dallas Public Library hosts first Teen Film Festival

High school students age 14 to 18 are invited to enter the Dallas Public Library’s Teen Film Festival.

All entries must be filmed entirely on a cellphone and relate to the question “How has technology affected your life in your community?” Films should be under three minutes long, including end credits. Prizes will include gift cards to the Angelika Theater, Photojojo Lens Set and a 16 GB iPad mini 2.

To enter, upload films to YouTube and email the video link by Jan. 27 to [email protected]. Be sure to include the filmmaker’s name, age, and high school. Judges will select first, second and third place winners with honorable mention going to the best short made by a filmmaker age 14 to 15.

Films selected for screening will be shown at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young St., first floor auditorium, from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 30.
