Illegal dumping arrests increase in August
In August, the Environmental Crimes Unit made 22 new arrests for illegal dumping offenses, compared to 10 in July. There have been 231 illegal dumping arrests made in this fiscal year.
The number of chronic illegal dumping sites is down to 37, compared to 62 in January. Since the launch of The Real Trash Talk campaign only 3 months ago, significant progress has been made to combat illegal dumping in the City of Dallas.
In addition to cameras installed in chronic sites to catch those illegally dumping, citizens are urged to report any illegal dumping activity they witness.
