Fun indoor activities to do in Dallas

As temperatures rise, people across the country get excited about getting outdoors and soaking up the sun. For Dallas residents, increasing temperatures are nothing new. If you want to have fun this summer, but don’t want to get scorched in the heat, consider these enjoyable indoor activities.

Want to stay home?
If you identify as a homebody, there are many virtual experiences you might enjoy. Virtual activities are fun ways to interact with your community, gain new life experiences, and learn new skills, all from the safety of your home. Virtual activities are also a great idea if you want to limit your exposure to large groups of people. For adults 18 and older, Dallas Parks is offering free virtual painting classes. The first 20 registrants will even get a free painting kit. There are plenty of other virtual activities such as virtual baking classes and virtual summer camps.

For the thrill-seekers
There are tons of activities for adventurous residents who still want to stay cool. Southern Skates Roller Rink is a great place to host parties, go on dates, and have an overall great time with family and friends.

If you are a thrill-seeker looking for a fun night out, check out these opportunities:

  • High tea at the Dallas Arboretum
  • Dallas Symphony Orchestra at Meyerson Symphony Center

    If you’re a pint-sized thrill-seeker, here are some child-friendly activities:

  • Virtual camps
  • Dallas World Aquarium

For more information on virtual activities and to find more fun resources the City of Dallas has to offer, check out the Dallas Park & Recreation website.
