The Dallas Public Library will again team up with AARP and VITA to offer free tax assistance at 18 branch locations. Assistance is geared toward people with low-to-moderate income, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers. preparing their own tax returns. Bring W-2’s, last year’s tax return, Social Security cards for all dependents, and a photo I.D.
In addition, through a partnership with the Office of Economic Development and the IRS, you can now e-file your taxes at any Dallas Public Library. Five dedicated laptops and secure Wi-Fi connection are available at all locations and offer access to Facilitated Self-Assistance tax filing. This means you can file your taxes any time a library is open through April 18.
