DART tells Riders: “See Something, Say Something”

DART is asking customers to “See Something, Say Something” and help end human trafficking. The effort coincides with National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month in January. DART is promoting the message on posters and decals inside buses, trains and on facility maps at select stations.

An estimated 20 million men, women and children around the world are victims of human trafficking, with the United States as a source, transit and destination country. Several years ago, DART joined Transportation Leaders Against Human Trafficking a national effort to raise public awareness on how to recognize and report potential trafficking.

DART is fighting human trafficking and other crimes by maintaining a strong police presence on buses and trains and monitoring security cameras at all rail stations. Even with those extra measures in place, they urge riders to be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious activities.

If you spot something that doesn’t seem right, call DART Police at (214) 928-6300; call 911 or text 41411 and type DARTpolice at the beginning of the message.
