Dallas Parks and Recreation announces the return of Park Rangers

Park Rangers and their green hats are back to help ensure public safety and keep Dallas parks in pristine condition. Rangers provide educational outreach on issues such as off-leash dogs, littering, alcohol use, and enforcing city ordinances including the smoking ban in city parks which goes into effect March 1.

“It’s all in an effort to support the Department’s mission by providing efficient and effective public safety, while fostering environmental stewardship,” said Park and Recreation Director Willis Winters. Park and Recreation currently has six Rangers monitoring the entire park system and will seek funding to hire two more as well as four new bike patrol rangers this year.
