Dallas Gears Up for the 29th Annual Mayor’s Back to School Fair at Fair Park
Mayor Eric L. Johnson, alongside Dallas ISD and the Junior League of Dallas, has officially announced the return of one of the city’s most cherished annual events — the 29th Annual Dallas Mayor’s Back to School Fair, taking place Friday, August 1 at Fair Park in the Automobile Building and Centennial Hall.
Hosted by Mayor Johnson, this signature event is more than just a school supply giveaway — it’s a powerful example of how Dallas comes together to invest in the future of our children. Each year, the Fair serves over 10,000 students and families from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, providing not just essentials for the classroom but also crucial health and wellness services.
“The Mayor’s Back to School Fair is one of Dallas’ most impactful annual events — and one of my personal favorites,” said Mayor Johnson. “Each year, the Mayor’s Back to School Fair equips thousands of kids and families with what they need to succeed in the school year ahead. The Mayor’s Back to School Fair exemplifies the very best of the Dallas spirit, showing that our city is committed to supporting our neighbors in need and ensuring that everyone is able to take advantage of the great opportunities Dallas has to offer.”
This year’s Fair will offer free school supplies to pre-registered students from Pre-K to 12th grade, along with access to:
- Immunizations
- Dental screenings
- Vision exams
- Health and social services from more than 100 local vendors
Families must register in advance to receive school supplies and meet eligibility based on residency, school enrollment, and household income. Registration is now open at mayorsbacktoschoolfair.com.
