Dallas building permit valuation growth is a positive economic sign

Building permit valuations in the City of Dallas for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30 reflect $4.28 billion dollars in construction activity, a positive sign for the economy.

The figure is a $0.91 billion dollar increase over building permit valuations in 2014 and is $0.87 billion dollars more than the pre-recession high of $3.41 billion dollars in 2007.

In a memo to the Dallas City Council, First Assistant City Manager Ryan S. Evans noted that the increase is a positive sign and an indicator of the economic growth that the City of Dallas continues to experience.
