Authors of the new novel Welcome to Night Vale, based on the wildly popular podcast, coming to Dallas Public Library Wednesday

The Dallas Public Library will present a conversation with Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, authors of the new novel Welcome to Night Vale, based on the #1 international podcast at 7 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 4. The free event will be held at the Central Library, 1515 Young St., first floor auditorium. The discussion will be moderated by KERA Radio’s Shelley Kenneavy, with book sales and signing to follow.

“This is a unique opportunity to see and hear the creators of one of the most popular podcasts in the world,” said Dallas Public Library Director Jo Giudice. “Anyone who likes a good story will enjoy hearing the authors talk about their creation, which has been described as The Twilight Zone, Stephen King and Twin Peaks all rolled into one.”

Welcome to Night Vale is a podcast presented as a radio show for the fictional town of Night Vale, and reports on the strange events that occur in the town. In July 2013, Welcome to Night Vale was ranked second on the iTunes top 10 audio podcasts list. During the same month, it surpassed the radio program. This American Life to become first on the podcasts list.

Free parking is available in the library’s garage, entrance on Wood St.
