City of Dallas Code Compliance shows why “engagement” is also a core value for staff

In 2022, the City of Dallas added a new “E” to its core values. The addition of engagement to empathy, ethics, excellence, and equity mold how the city strives to serve its residents. Now with the addition of engagement, the city can be more public-facing and attentive to Dallas residents’ needs and concerns.

Code Compliance Services has a history of engaging with residents through community clean-up events, hosting code academies for residents, attending neighborhood meetings, local library pop-ups, and now, building relationships with small businesses. Nearly a dozen Neighborhood Code Representatives enjoyed lunch with the staff at Harvey B’s Burgers (4506 Columbia Ave #100, Dallas, TX 75226). The staff at Harvey B’s let Code know what makes a good burger and the NCRs wanted to educate and provide resources about the department to the employees.

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local communities. Code’s new initiative will see staff work with local small businesses monthly to help educate residents about the department’s mission of providing health and safety for our communities.

If you are a small business owner and would like to meet with Code’s NCRs please contact 214-670-5708.
