City of Dallas Approves Reverchon Park Interlocal Agreement with Dallas ISD

Wednesday May 25, the Dallas City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Dallas ISD for the
joint development, operation and use of Reverchon Park and Baseball Field.

Councilmember Jesse Moreno, in whose district the park resides, was pleased with today’s City
Council vote. “After all this time, we finally got it right – striking a balance between the City, the
needs of the students and the surrounding community and neighbors.”

“The Dallas Park and Recreation Board and Department have worked tirelessly to restore this
beloved and treasured park that is a welcoming place in a lively and busy urban corridor. We
value our longstanding partnership with our Dallas schools and we thank them for joining with the
City of Dallas to invest in Reverchon’s ballfield revitalization. The City of Dallas and our school
system want to make sure residents – no matter where they live – have equitable and sustainable
access to Dallas parks and recreational amenities,” said Arun Agarwal, President, Dallas Park
and Recreation Board.

Dallas ISD will contribute $5 million to the project, where these funds will provide The Reverchon
Park project much needed and improved recreational facilities to the residents of Dallas and the
Dallas ISD community, including new and refurbished facilities, including a baseball field, batting
cages, parking improvements, restrooms, equipment storage and concession facilities.
