How to celebrate July 4 in a pandemic
Fourth of July celebrations are guaranteed to be memorable and unique this year. With COVID-19 cases rising in the Dallas area, it’s important to heed the advice of health experts to ensure your holiday celebrations are safe.
Dr. Kelvin Baggett, the City’s COVID-19 Czar, has tips for Dallas residents who are planning to celebrate the holiday with their friends and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
1. Keep it small.
Celebrate the 4th with 10 people or less.
2. Keep it distant
Keep celebrations outdoors and stay at least 6 feet from others.
3. Keep it clean
Practice good hand hygiene and encourage guests to bring their own food and drinks to avoid sharing utensils or germs.
4. Keep it covered
Wear a mask when you aren’t eating or drinking.
It’s important to remember that Dallas residents are safest at home. Additional information about the COVID-19 pandemic in Dallas can be found on the City’s website.
