Bike courier and bicycle advocate Christina Jones to talk urban biking
Are you interested in getting around on a bike but aren’t sure where to start? Do you want tips for riding more smoothly in Dallas? Get the knowledge you need to fearlessly take to the streets at the Dallas Public Library, 1515 Young St. on Thursday Aug. 6.
From 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the first floor Community Showcase, longtime bike courier and bicycle advocate Christina Jones will share the lessons she’s learned from years of riding on the streets of Dallas.
Topics covered will include: traffic laws and the rights of people on bikes; how to control traffic by taking the lane; situational awareness and reacting to common situations and what makes a bike-friendly route. The program will conclude with a question and answer session.
