North Texas Giving Day Thursday aims for new generosity record

Officials for North Texas Giving Day 2015 are hoping for the fourth straight record year of generosity and donations this Thursday, September 17. North Texas Giving Day is an annual event that equips area nonprofits for success. In 2014 alone, more than 75,000 donations totaling $26.3 million broke the national giving record and provided hope to 2,100 certified nonprofits.

Donations of $25 or more can be made from 6 a.m. to midnight Thursday to the certified nonprofits listed at www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org. The donations will be amplified by more than $2 million dollars in bonus funds and prizes.

Dallas area nonprofits will also host the Second Annual KidsGive, sponsored by DFW Child, at NorthPark Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday. Children attending can donate their loose change and do hands-on philanthropic and kid friendly activities. Donors may also watch complimentary showcase performances by several nonprofits.

North Texas Giving Day updates and tallies will be posted regularly on Facebook: North Texas Giving Day and on Twitter @NTXGivingDay.
