North Texas Giving Day 2015 raises $33.1 million

North Texas Giving Day 2015 raised a record $33.1 million for 2,022 area nonprofits on September 17.

North Texas Giving Day is an online giving event that provides nonprofits the opportunity to gain exposure, start relationships with donors and bring people together to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits. The yearly philanthropic event celebrated its seventh and most successful year to date with Communities Foundation of Texas at the helm. Among the many local charities receiving much needed support were the Salvation Army DFW, SPCA of Texas, KERA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters Lone Star and the North Texas Food Bank.

NTGD 1In its seven year history, North Texas Giving Day has raised more than $119 million for North Texas nonprofits. This year, donations came from all 50 US States, six territories and 28 countries at the rate of 110 gifts or $30,000 per minute. On average, each participating nonprofit raised more than $15,000.
