NDSM provides long-term solutions to short-term problems for Dallas residents

Nearly 22 years ago, the North Dallas Shared Ministries (NDSM) formed as an independent non-profit agency to assist the needy in their community. As communities within Dallas grew, so did the basic needs of the population. According to 2014 statistics, nearly 24 percent of Dallas residents live at or below the national poverty level, with 38 percent of all Dallas children current living in poverty.

NDSM began as a single church room operation helping a few dozen families and over the years evolved into a 20,000 square foot building with over 500 volunteers serving close to 40,000 people each year. NDSM delivers emergency assistance, fosters wellness and financial independence and helps those truly in need access community programs. The breadth of services provided by NDSM also reflects the current diverse needs of Dallas residents.
