John Lemon October Employee Spotlight

He received a WOW card… After digging through some records concerning the traffic signal lens bills, John realized the City of Dallas was being overcharged and he wanted to correct the billing. He worked with TXU to reduce the amount of the current charges and he also got a lower rate for the City. This resulted in the City receiving a credit of $27,411.22. He received a WOW card from his supervisor, Hazel Baker, at a monthly safety meeting in May.

He attributes his success to… His father, who inspires him with his work ethic. John’s father retired from Oak Farms after 43 years of service. While working he also operated the family’s 160-acre farm after work and on weekends. His father continues to work on the farm.

His customer service philosophy… If I don’t have the answer, I will help find the answer.
What he does in his spare time… When he is not at work, John enjoys running 5Ks and half marathons and traveling. As a loyal Texas Rangers fan, he combines his love of traveling and baseball by going to at least one out-of-town game a year.

His greatest accomplishment… In December, John will be a father for the first time.
