Erosion control improvements taking place at Turtle Creek

The City of Dallas is working with Ark Contracting Services to complete erosion control improvements at Turtle Creek.  You may have noticed construction crews doing pre-construction work at the creek. The contractor has installed earthen dams to dewater a stretch of Turtle Creek. This will allow the contractor to pump the water upstream of the turbidity blanket.

The erosion control improvements that need to be completed are below the water pool level. This process will give the contractor access to the bedrock to complete the work. Erosion control improvements consist of setting Millsap stone and stone riprap to protect the slope and stabilize the bank. A tributary curtain has been placed underneath the bridge to catch any sediment or silt. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2019.

Please be assured that the City is making every effort to complete the project promptly to minimize inconvenience to the neighborhood. For any questions regarding this Dallas Water Utilities Stormwater Project,  contact Project Manager, Qizhe (Victor) Hou at 214-948-4446 or [email protected].
