Dallas Police Department delivers meals to homebound seniors

Hundreds of Dallas Police Department (DPD) employees participated in the first ever DPD City-Wide Day of Caring Thursday, delivering nearly 1,000 meals to VNA Meals on Wheels clients.

Officers from throughout the department, including Police Chief David Brown worked more than 100 routes during the special day. For each route delivered by volunteers, VNA Meals on Wheels is able to feed another hungry senior for a week.

“Today is an example of what makes our Department so special,” Chief Brown said via Twitter.
