Dallas Park and Recreation Department making the outdoors fun

Dallas Parks Foundation, in partnership with Dallas Park and Recreation, will enrich the outdoor knowledge of more than 360 participants with a new program: OutdoorAdventures@Dallas.  The program is made possible by a Community Outdoor Outreach Program grant which provides funding to local governments and non-profit organizations.  The funds are used to introduce under-served populations to environmental and conservation programs as well as Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s mission-oriented outdoor activities.

OutdoorAdventures@Dallas offers mountain biking basics, archery, backyard bass, geocaching, camping, nature photography, and more.  Expect to see the mountain bike adventure at the Cedar Hill State Park and Dallas Park trails. Participants learning the art of archery will have their adventure at Kidd Springs Park, while others will be learning to fish at Bachman Lake.
