City proposing Stormwater fee changes
The City of Dallas wants to change the way stormwater fees are calculated. The proposed changes are the result of a Stormwater Fee Study commissioned by the City to ensure that rates accurately reflect the surface area of each property.
The new rate structure will be more in alignment with how other cities across the country bill for stormwater. The current stormwater rate structure is based on the size of the lot. The proposed fee calculations will be based on measured impervious (hard surface) area for each property.

Most customers will not see a significant change in their bills. If the City Council approves the proposed stormwater rates, customers could see changes in their bills beginning Oct 1.
