City parks and recreation centers will get spring tune up during It’s My Park Day

Dallas Park and Recreation is asking citizens to contribute a few hours to keep city parks and recreation centers cleaner and greener during It’s My Park Day, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday April 23.

“It’s My Park Day” is a citywide community service initiative focused on enhancing Dallas parks and recreation centers. Individuals, families, homeowners’ associations, companies, churches and civic groups are invited to organize and participate in beautification and cleanup activities at parks and recreation centers throughout the city.

Specifically, citizens can organize volunteer projects at a park or recreation center in their community to help with litter and debris clean-up, weeding, mulching. Some groups also include live music, an educational component, a picnic or other activities during the event.
