City of Dallas Unveils New Communications Plan

The City of Dallas Public Information Office has a new communications plan in place. Dallas is a dynamic, fast growing metroplex with a diverse group of citizens and communities in need of information and near instant access to their government and leaders. Along with this excitement comes a renewed and invigorated look at the people, places and programs of our great city, one picture, one video, one article, one social media posting at a time.

With these needs in mind, the Public Information Office is unveiling plans to bring proactive stories to the citizens, build community relationships and foster community relationships.
Over the next two years, our citizens will enjoy a new, engaging website, increased social media content and presence, additional television programming from a new media support studio and the country’s first center for education and research focused on communications and policy, with a particular emphasis on Dallas.

The tenents of transparency, timeliness and truthfulness will guide the city as it connects the public to stories related to city news and events. To accomplish this, the city will work toward the creation of a communications ecosystem that will connect the city’s customer service focus, programs and stories with people, wherever they are, however they best receive information.
