City of Dallas to host summer job and resource fair

DALLAS — The Dallas Police Department is hosting a job fair for those looking for a summer job.  Community organizations providing resources and services for young people will also be present.

Located at the West Dallas Multipurpose Center, the job fair will bring together dozens of businesses that are actively looking to hire employees – all in one location.

The aim is to teach teenagers and young adults, from the ages of 16 to 24, about responsibility and give them guidance, said Armando Dominguez Jr., sergeant with the Dallas Police Department.

For Dominguez, it’s about giving back to the community.

“Our goal is to help young people find a job for the summer. I grew up in this community and a job fair helped me when I was growing up,” he said.

The job fair will take place on June 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Dallas Multipurpose Center, 2828 Fish Trap Rd., Dallas, TX 75212.

While geared toward people between the ages of 16 and 24, anyone can apply to open positions. Snacks will be available on a first come, first-served basis.
