City of Dallas Recognizes Digital Inclusion Week 

DALLAS – Celebrate Digital Inclusion Week with the City of Dallas. 

Digital Inclusion Week is an annual week hosted by the National Digital Inclusion Alliance that highlights the digital inclusion movement and raises awareness of digital equity in communities throughout the country.  

During the week, which is Monday through Friday, Oct. 2 through 6, hundreds of organizations, advocates, and local/regional elected officials raise awareness for solutions addressing home internet access, devices, and digital skills training and support programs. 

Below is a list of events taking place in Dallas. 

Monday | Oct. 2  

Computer Help  

Martin Luther King, Jr. Library Branch – Computer Area 

10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.  

Event Details: 

One-on-one dedicated computer help with a staff member from the Dallas Public Library. Staff will help residents with computer skills, accessing social services, connectivity, job applications, creating a resume and more. For more information, link here.

Event details:  

CARDBoard Project is here to help connect residents to job search assistance, housing resources, access to essentials and more. Stop by for a one-on-one session very Tuesday on the 6th floor and every Thursday on the first floor. This partnership is in collaboration with the CARDBoard Project and Downtown Dallas, Inc. Event details: 

Library staff is available to provide one-on-one instruction on topics like learning to type and using a mouse, “Getting Started on a Computer,” “Internet for Beginners” and “Email for Beginners.” The computer sessions are for one hour. (Em)powerment Pop-ups are a new initiative created through a partnership between the CARDboard Project and Dallas Innovation Alliance. Both Dallas based non-profits focus on bridging the digital divide through the ‘three legs of the stool’ – access, affordability, and training – to make a more connected community. Girls Who Code
