City of Dallas offers permit resource event

Development Services is starting a new program to help residents learn more about the permitting process.

Called Pop Up Permit Saturday, these events take place every third Saturday of the month and will offer information and permitting services to residents who may not be able to visit the Permit Service Center during the week.

“Development Services is focused on providing excellent customer service by making our services available to our customers outside of regular business hours. We want to be empathetic to the needs of our customers and ensure we’re being equitable in the way we do business.,” said Vernon Young, Assistant Director of the Customer Advocate Team.

Resources include:

  • Information regarding what is needed for a permit to make small repairs and improvements
  • Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, re-roofing, fencing and swimming pool permits
  • Residential and zoning consultations

The next Pop Up Permit Saturday will be on Aug. 20 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oak Cliff Municipal Center located at 320 E. Jefferson Blvd. Dallas, TX 75208.
